Getting Started
Who can create an account?+
Researchers and institutional users who need to submit, review or administer KATH research activities may create an account. Access to internal workspaces depends on assigned roles and invitations.
How do I start an ethics application?+
Create an account or sign in, then use the new study/application flow from your dashboard or My Studies area.
Can I save and return later?+
Yes. Draft study submissions and registry applications are designed so applicants can save work, return later and complete required documents before submission.
What is the difference between a study and a submission?+
A study is the parent research project record. A submission is a specific package of work under that study, such as an initial application, amendment, continuing review or response to requested changes.
Ethics Applications
What documents are required?+
Required documents depend on the application or submission type and the answers entered in the form. The portal shows the relevant upload requirements before submission.
Can I edit an application after submitting it?+
Submitted records are controlled by the workflow. If revisions or clarifications are requested, the portal reopens the relevant response or revision pathway.
How do I track the status of my application?+
Use My Studies, Dashboard next actions, My Tasks and the study detail page to follow the current status, required actions and issued documents.
What are expedited and full-board review?+
They are review pathways used by the IRB administration according to the nature of the submission and institutional review requirements.
Payments and Waivers
How do I pay application fees?+
Applicants should follow the payment options shown in the portal for the relevant submission. The current workflow supports manual receipt upload and verification.
How do fee-waiver codes work?+
Fee-waiver codes are issued by KATH R&D. When a code applies, the portal provides a waiver-code pathway for the relevant submission.
Is online payment available?+
Online payment is not yet available. Applicants should use the payment options shown in the portal.
Institutional Registries
What is an institutional Registry?+
An institutional Registry is a structured registry, database or repository proposed for administrative consideration and monitoring within KATH research governance.
How do I submit a Registry application?+
Sign in and use the Registry area to complete screening, fill the registry application, upload required documents and submit for R&D review when eligible.
What happens after Registry approval?+
Approved registries may receive an administrative approval letter and continue through monitoring requirements such as annual reporting where applicable.
When is an annual report required?+
Annual reporting applies to approved registries according to the registry monitoring workflow shown in the portal.
Collaboration
How do I invite a team member?+
Study teams can invite members through the study team area. Accepted members receive access according to the role assigned to them.
What permissions can study members have?+
Permissions vary by assigned study role, such as principal investigator, project manager, research assistant or other configured team roles.
How do collaboration requests work?+
Researchers may use the collaboration features to discover collaborators and send requests. Notifications and task views help recipients respond.
Review and Decisions
How will I know if action is required?+
The portal uses Dashboard next actions, My Tasks, notifications and email templates to highlight work that needs attention.
Where do I see reviewer comments?+
Applicant-facing comments appear in the relevant response or revision workspace when the workflow returns a submission for action.
How are decision letters delivered?+
Issued letters are made available through the relevant study or registry record and may also be announced through portal notifications.
Technical Help
What should I do if an upload fails?+
Check the file type and size, then try again. If the issue persists, contact KATH Research & Development through the official hospital support channels.
Why do I see an unsaved-changes warning?+
The portal warns you when a form contains changes that have not yet been saved, so you can avoid losing work while navigating.
Who should I contact for support?+
Contact KATH Research & Development through the official hospital support channels. Do not send confidential study documents through informal channels.
